The Braveheart Guy

Now this guy I have nothing but respect for.

Seen going about his business in town wearing full Plaid. Looks like a Jacobite. Proper wild hair, the lot.

What. A. Dude.

Edit 02/01/09: Thanks to all the folks who commented letting me know who he is. I can now upload a photo of him.
Still. A. Dude.

  1. I've seen this bloke a lot around town, (but not in the last few weeks. I was getting kinda worried) It's not the bloke from the website in comment 1 (that's Peter Dow)

The man in question, is full on cool-ness personified. It must take some balls to walk around in full Jacobite style leathers. I'm pretty sure he wears bucklers (small shields) on his wrists as well.

First time I saw him I though I was hallucinating. Then I saw him going into a flat just down the road from me, he must have just been visiting though as I haven't seen him since.

  3. this is Harris, he is a really sound bloke. i met him through friends and speak to him regularly.
he had one of those upbringings that involved traveling all over the world. he is very into budism and astrology and has spent a lot of time in thailand.

speak to him, he isn't as weird as he looks.

  6. Parasuram Uranian Skye. A personable enough chap. Does not wish to eat animals but content to wear leather. He's writing a book of astrology but it's been rejected by American publishers as he won't make the content accessible. It's mumbo-jumbo.His beliefs are a bit confused but he LOVES the Rambo films.

Or do a google search using his name. eccentric rather than plain barmy. There's no emoticon to describe him.

  9. This guy is legendary. I worked in Books & Beans on belmont street last summer. He would often stop buy to drop off a magazine which I believe he publishes himself.

My fiance also recalls a time when he worked for B & Q in Bridge o Don, during the summer highlander purchased a snow shovel (they were on sale) Apparently walks he everywhere!!

  10. I have been on the bus with him, and I used to oft see him walking down king st, he went to Aberdeen uni, apparently my old Gaelic lecturer taught him, she said he was a "Celtic priest" (I so wish I could type the disdain in her voice lol) and went about marrying people. Her also used the library and I believe uses cedar or camphor as a deodorant/to keep away the moths/whatever. I think everyone has stories of him he seems like a nice enough chap just a wee bittie strange.

  11. His name is Pheonix. I've known him since I went to Gilcomstoun Primary as that was his usual hideout!

He is actually a really nice man who I have nothing but respect for, and whoever said he is English is a tool! He's originally from Aberdeen however, has lived in India, Singapore and Scotland.

He is a philosopher I believe? Well, he works with space people and has all these weird views, but never the less he's a true Braveheart!

  13. I've seen him on tv years ago. A North Tonight special or the like. He lives outside all year round... or so he says. Doubt he'd have survieved the coldness lately!

  14. Does anyone know how to get in contact with him? I am a journalist and am writing a book about meditation - I guess he could be a good person to interview as part of my research.
