MAF has tattooes all over his face and his name stands for Mad As F*ck.
He's legendary in Aberdeen for apparently beating up anyone that stares at his face for too long.
Actually, office gossip tells that there's two guys with tattooed faces - and that they share a flat.
I can just imagine the meeting of minds one fine Aberdeen day as they passed eachother in the street... and each thought "Hang on now! There's someone I could share a flat with!"
I'm not going to say any more in case I get beat up.

MAF was often at the sheriff court when I worked there a decade ago, appearing on one assault charge or another (him, not me). His speciality, I seem to recall, was sitting in bars and demanding of his unfortunate victims: "Who you lookin' at?" He would then thump them. I remember that his facial tattoos didn't seem to be illustrations of anything in particular. It was as if a particularly inept five-year-old had attempted some colouring and gone outside all the lines - but using a tattoo needle and green ink instead of a crayon. And a man's face instead of a colouring book, obviously.
Yeah, I remember him too. Is it him or the other guy that has 'england' on his forehead..? Does that count as 'starting it' in the sheriff court?
There are rumours that the two guys have sold their skin to some rich idiot so when they die he will their skin on his wall. Nice story..whether its true who knows.
I used to deliver his paper, without knowing it, he never actually paid for it, the day he finally opened the fucking door I told him to forget it and made up his money myself.
Only a prick would get "ENGLAND" on their forehead and choose to live in Scotland, I think we should all gang up and kick the fucker out of town, he's beat up one folk too many
Maff is a top bloke, i've known him for over 17 years now. The other lad was called Reese, who is sadly no longer with us (RIP).
Maff is also a good Red.
yeah I remember Maf and Reese well from the days of skank at the neptune bar...maf is a bit nuts but not nearly as crazy as people think and the whole time i hung out with them when they had a flat in Tilly they were both sweet natured blokes.
yes i know maf and have done for many years maf the moth as i call him is going out what a lassie annmire maf is a very nice bloke once you get over the tatooed mush he is a very hard worker and not at all violent

Hey, I know what it's like to be judged by ppl who don't know you. ie folk that think that just coz you live above a brothel.... You can figure the rest out.
I haven't seen MAF around The Grey Toon for a good few years - how are his tattoos looking? Just wondering if he gets them touched up now and again?
It's so funny reading all these posts about MAF. I used to know him very well and spent a lot of time with him when I was younger. He wasn't intelligent but he was very smart, and he could be incredibly kind and would work really hard at times.
Unfortunately he used to drink A LOT and that made him act like a bit of an arse at times. He's done a lot of things he's not proud of and some he is - his daughter for one thing. He was chased out of London years ago due to some pretty dodgy goings on with the BMP. I never knew Reece but I hear he was a gentle soul - they knew each other from when they were kids together in Bethnal Green. MAF was kicked to fuck by his dad as a kid and tells a story of seeing his mum getting stabbed in a bar when he was really little (not sure if this was true - he could spin a yarn like noone I know).
Overall, he was a pretty good guy who was a product of a pretty awful start in life. He got the England tattoo covered up years ago and once old me he sometimes wishes he didn't have any of the tattoos on his face but it's too late to do anything about it now. He's one of life's characters and I used to love a good conversation with him - we once sat and talked for literally hours about his life and he is a very intereting person.
Just dont stare!!! :-)
I'm sure he's calmed down a fair bit by now, he's well into his forties now.
